Background Information

Often persons with a substance abuse addiction do not know how to start the process to recovery. The response, “Just stop using!” is not adequate. Substance abuse users want help, but they do not know how to start. Options out there can include taking a short questionnaire to determine whether the person has a problem. In most, if not all, instances, the person would not take the questionnaire if they did not think that they had a problem. So what does the questionnaire reveals: you have a problem. Now what? Other options involve the substance abuse user being committed to a program. This involves lots of dollars, and for many programs, recidivism is high.

The question right now for you is, “What can I do to start in the right direction for dealing with an addiction issue?” The first step is to know where you are and what are the issues that surround being in this predicament. Secondly, people must know how to get to where they want to go. For most substance abuse users, they know where they want to be, that is, to live without the woes of substance abuse. Yet, they don’t know how to get there. CI provides you with a plan and help.

What Can Christian Institute Do for You or a Love One?

CI provides a comprehensive, yet economical, approach for persons seeking to rid themselves of substance abuse. CI uses certified Christian substance abuse counselors to help you. Listed below are services that Christian Institute can offer you. For a comprehensive assessment and treatment plan, the price is only $125. Here is how it works.

  • Upon signing up, your first session is to complete a Comprehensive Addiction Assessment Form (a pdf reader is needed to view the form) . On an agreed upon time, a CI certified substance abuse counselor will meet by telephone (or another medium such as Skype or WebEx) with you. This initial session will focus on reviewing the your results of the Comprehensive Addiction Assessment Form so that the counselor can assess the your needs. This session is approximately 45 minutes. From this session and form, the counselor will create a treatment plan for you.

  • After competing the first session, the counselor will create a treatment/case management plan for you. The counselor will send you and meet again by telephone (or Skype or WebEx) with you to review, modify and suggest ways to you for implementing the plan.

  • If you want the counselor to help you monitor the plan, the counselor can meet with you by telephone (or Skype or WebEx) for Case Management. In each instance of a counselor meeting with you, the price is $55, which is billed for up to one hour

  • Individual sessions with a certified substance abuse counselor from Christian Institute on an individual basis. Each session is $55, which is billed for up to one hour.

  • You can take the online course on Addiction. This course involves using the textbook Addiction and Grace and focuses on persons being able to understand what is happening in their life because of substance abuse. The course also has quizzes you to complete in order to gain a deeper insight into the nature of addiction and the treatment of addiction. You can view a sample course format. You will be logged in as a guest. Use the login name: sample. The password is sample. To log into this sample course, click here. When you enroll in the course, you will be given your official login name and password. After completing the course, you will receive a Certificate of Completion. The course takes approximately one month to complete. The price is $95.

Note that because CI’s Addiction Case Management Counseling Program is done online, clients must have Internet, telephone, computer with word processing capability and email. For features like Skype and WebEx, clients must also have camera and microphone

More Information

This CI program has been used by those needing to satisfy a court or probation requirement. Its sole purpose is to provide a client with information about addiction (which is the course) and create a plan, when acted upon and followed, should lead a client to the place where they want to be, which is free of substance abuse use.

CI offers other services that are used for implementing the plan. For instance, a plan may include an objective that the client should have individual counseling sessions. CI provides certified substance abuse counselors but clients can choose whomever they want for a counselor. Another instance is monitoring the plan. A CI counselor can meet with a client for Case Management to monitor the plan. In each instance of a counselor meeting with a client, the price is $45, which is billed for up to one hour.

The primary purpose for CI offering this program is to allow clients to find an affordable way to address their substance abuse issues. It provides the essence for clients moving from Point A (where I am now which is a substance abuse user) to Point B (where I want to be which is to be free from substance abuse).
