Christian Institute offers persons who are ready to take Addiction Counselor Exam through the ICRC (International Certification and Reciprocity Consortium) the opportunity to prepare for the exam by offering an extensive preparation course. The course is designed to augment the preparation candidates have already through their education. Click here to view all the Addiction Counselor Certifying Boards for which this exam preparation course offers. With this course, which is only $300, candidates will receive all of the following:

• Assistance to prepare your application to submit to your certification board to take both the written and oral exams
  • If needed, you will receive samples of a peer reference letter, verification of experience letter and a thorough review of your application before submission including grammar and style checks. Note that the sample letters are only for seeing what the letters look like; they are not for use for submission.
    
• Assistance to prepare for the written exam with study guide, readings, practice exams and coaching
  • Once registered for the Preparation Course, you will receive access to the online classroom that has the following content for helping you pass the written exam:
    • practice exams
    • flash cards
    • a study guide
    • test taking strategies
    • readings
  • You will also have a CI associate available for consultation regarding advisement on questions about the written exam.
  • You will also have the opportunity to speak with someone who recently took and passed the exam

• Assistance to prepare for the Case Presentation Method for the oral exam
  • You will have access to a study guide
  • Once you are ready for the Oral Exam you will have available a CI associate to guide you in creating your CPM (Case Presentation Method).
    • You will receive a sample CPM ( Note that the sample CPM is only for seeing what one looks like; it is not to be used for submission.)
    • Once you create your CPM, CI's associate will critique it and suggest edits if needed
  • You will then have one mock interview of the oral exam. You will receive an assessment of how you did. The interview is performed preferably through Skype; otherwise, the telephone is used.
