Balancing
life’s roles and functions while serving the
Lord is the Lord’s will. The Lord does not want us
to have all our roles and functions balanced without having Him
as our epicenter. In fact, without Him, the roles and functions
are probably not balanced. He provides the balance. As
we go God’s way, which is to strive continuously for holiness,
we must acknowledge the Lord in all we do, not just at a specified
time of each day or week. Rather, our acknowledgement must
be all-consuming, that is, twenty-four hours a day, seven days
a week and in everything we do.
The
goal of this study is to have it serve as a catalyst for participants
to examine themselves in light of where they are as Christians,
what roles they perform as Christians, and where they are going
as Christians.
After completing the study, each participant can expect to:
- Know what the Bible says about being a Christian
- Know what the life of a Christian should be like
- Understand how sin and other distractions can interfere with
being the most one can be for the Lord
- Identify obstacles that interfere with Christian growth
- Have
the opportunity to reflect on his or her current life’s
roles and functions as well as future ones in relation to the “Let
Your Light Shine” model.
- Identify ways to promote healthy Christian living
A major
premise of this study is that in order to understand where
one is going, one must know where one currently is. The
study begins with “Who Am I,” followed by “Where
Am I Going,” “Obstacles to Growth,” and “Ways
to Grow.” |
