Online
Bible Studies is a way in which you meet with others, three
to five persons, to reflect on Scripture, pray for each other,
discuss accountability issues with each other, and just praise
God together. The Bible Studies use an inductive approach, meaning
that each person reflects on the passage of Scripture being
studied and offers input rather than having a leader that only
tells the particpants what the Bible is saying. Using the inductive
approach allows participants to understand what God is saying
to them. Each Bible Study has a facilitator who is familiar
with the inductive study process of Oil,
Interpretation and Life Application
(OIL). Bible Studies are available in general
theme areas or specific areas such as addictions and other life
issues.
Christian
Institute's Online Bible Studies have a commitment of about
one to two hours a week. Of this time, there is a half-hour
committment to be live in the bible study classroom. During
this half-hour, participants in the Online Bible Study will
have the opportunity to talk with each other. This time is pre-arranged
such as 6:00 am every Wednesday. For the rest of the committed
time for the week, participants will go at times convenient
for them to the Online Bible Study Classroom to do Oil,
Interpretation and Life Application
(OIL) of the passages of Scripture for the
week.
The
purpose of CI's Online Bible Studies is to have persons to come
to know Jesus and become closer to Him. The Bible Studies are
free of charge. Christian Institute is only asking that persons
signing up for an Online Bible Study has a charge from God to
want to get to know Him more. The time duration for a study
is contingent upon each person.
