After completing this course, the learner should be able to:

• Define HIV/AIDS and the difference between the two
• Understand the different ways that the disease can be spread and ways to prevent the disease.
• Learn the symptoms to look for with the disease and testing information
• Understand the different treatment strategies
• Understand and implement intervention plans
• To gain a broader understanding of the counseling Techniques in dealing with HIV/AIDS

This course contains 6 topics and one short essay based on one’s knowledge from a spiritual point of view. Each topic has a reading portion then a quiz based on the reading. The topics include:

• What is HIV/AIDS
• Transmission of the disease
• HIV Symptoms and Testing
• HIV Treatment
• Intervention
• Counseling Techniques
