Ethics in Theory (Discussion Questions)
Course Description
This course is to provide students with perspective
to form a paradigm on how to view the role of ethics in our society. The course
uses some current trends and their impact on ethics. This course satisfies .6
CEUs (6 hours) with CCBADC and BBS.
Course Goals
• To help students explore ethics in our current society.
• To provide learners with new knowledge on trends in our society affecting
ethics.
• To help learners think about how ethics affect their roles as professionals.
Course Objectives
Upon completion of this course, the student should:
• Understand how ethics influence professional
conduct.
• Become familiar with current laws and legislation affecting counselors
and therapists.
• Understand ethical conduct with the ability to apply it to a wide range
of problems.
• Become familiar with resources available in the delivery of mental health
services, as well as implications of these trends both professionally and socially.
• Understand the practical issues counselors and therapists face in a
variety of roles and clinical settings
Course Format
The course consists of readings in which you respond to three discussion questions in which you write a response of 250 words to each question. There is a Biblical passage that you may choose as part of the reading but it is not required. Passing grade must be 75% out of 100.
