SYLLABUS
Course Description

This course is to provide learners with knowledge about management and leadership as it is practical in their organization, their practice, or with themselves. This course satisfies .6 CEUs (6 hours) with CCBADC and BBS.
Course Goals
  • To show that different management styles are needed for different situations.
  • To identify different leadership styles.
  • To provide learners with the opportunity to reflect on their leadership paradigm as it relates to their organizations, practice and even themselves.

Course Objectives
Upon completion of this course, the learner should:
  • Know what is situational leadership.
  • Understand transformational leadership and other leadership styles.
  • Be able to create a leadership paradigm.
  • Know how leadership principles can be applied to one’s organization, practice or even oneself.
Course Discussion Questions

1. Describe some of the pros and cons of using situational leadership. Is situational leadership a style for you? Explain.

2. Describe some of the pros and cons of using transformational leadership. Is transformational leadership a style for you? Explain.

3. Based upon your knowledge of leadership, describe your leadership paradigm, that is, the way you lead and manage others.
