Course Description

This course is to provide learners with basic knowledge about management as it relates to their organizations, their practice or themselves. This course satisfies .6 CEUs (6 hours) with CCBADC and BBS.

Course Goals

To provide an understanding of the definition of management.
To provide learners with an understanding of what management entails.
To provide learners with the opportunity to reflect on how management styles affect their organizations, practice and even themselves.

Course Objectives

Upon completion of this course, the learner should:

Know the definition of management.
Know the functions of management.
Be able to know how workers want to be managed.
Know how management principles can be applied to one’s organization, practice or even oneself.

Format of Course

This course uses discussion questions (DQs) to which learners write out their responses. After reading the assigned reading learners then write a short response, usually 250 words, to each DQ. The number of DQs and the length of the required responses correlate with the number of continuing education hours for the course. This course has three discussion questions.

Students also have the option to incorporate a Biblical perspective to each course. At the end of the course is a passage of Scriputre about the topic. Students can choose to respond to the Discussion about the Scripure. This portion of the course is not calculated in the pass or fail of the course; it is for enhancement for those who choose to complete it.
