CO-OCCURRING DISORDERS COURSE

Co-Occurring Disorder Course (6 CEHs)

Students must first complete six (6) hours of coursework in CODs.  

At Christian Institute, we offer a comprehensive Co-Occurring Disorder Course designed for professionals seeking to enhance their understanding and treatment of individuals with dual diagnoses—those experiencing both mental health disorders and substance use disorders. This course provides evidence-based strategies for assessing, diagnosing, and treating clients with co-occurring conditions, offering vital insights into the complex relationship between addiction and mental health.

A Treatment Improvement Protocol (TIP)  is best practice guidelines for the treatment of substance abuse.  In this course, you will learn about TIP 42: Co-occurring Disorders, and the screening, assessment, diagnosis, and management of co-occurring disorders (CODs).

Learning Objectives

2. Understand the types of CODs that occur
3. Explore the history and current focus on CODs 
4. Learn the basics of screening, assessing, diagnosing, and managing co-occurring disorders in patients
5. Apply your knowledge of CODs to your practice
