Lord, You Take Care of Me

Lord,

Help me to realize that as long as I am in Your will, You are taking perfect care of me.  I do not need to try to justify my actions to anyone.   If I have sought You diligently before taking an action, I can come into Your rest of peace knowing that my life and actions are a sacrifice to You.  I  must fully realize that my life is not mine but Yours.  Let me surrender all ties that I have to try to claim my life.  I give it to You.  Take my will and transform it into only wanting to do things that are pleasing to You.

I will seek You, Lord.

Lord, I Desire to Have the Proper Perspective

O Lord,
I am seeking to have the proper perspective on whatever I do in my life.  I want to stay focused on You, not wavering, and be in Your perfect will.  I realize that distractions often arise to take me away from what I should be doing.  These distractions appear to be a just cause or proper thing to do, but, in essence, they serve to take me away from having Your Word fill my life completely.  I am asking, Lord, that You grant me:
  • Wisdom to know what is a distraction and what is Your perfect will for me.
  • Endurance to deal with behaviors associated with Your perfect will.  I have realized that the behaviors are usually contrary to the desires of the flesh.
  • Peace to keep my joy up.
  • Contentment to find purpose in what I am doing.
  • Love to show everyone whom I encounter while I am doing Your will
  • Humility to have in dealing with everyone while doing Your will.
  • Self control, most importantly, control over the tongue so that I can say what needs to be said and nothing more.
Lord, if I am not living according to Your Spirit, please convict me sorely, so that I can change my way to align it with You.

Living Moment by Moment

O Lord,

Please let me continuously seek to know You more moment by moment.  I must accept each moment as precious so that sin does not entice me to lust after the future.  I will focus on the present where You are, Lord.

I need not look to see where I will be in the future.  Rather, let me recognize Your presence in every moment.  Lord, have mercy on me while I continue to seek You.

Thanks for the Gift of Humility

O Lord,
I am learning about humility.  I am realizing how powerful this gift is.  O Lord, I realize that in order to have this gift of humility, You have had to bless first.  The humility manifests itself as a result of Your magnificent blessings.  Humility acknowledges the blessings that You have bestowed on one.

O Lord, thank You for the blessings in my life.  As I ponder the magnitude of the blessings, the humbler I should become.  Through my humility, I am asking that I can love my neighbor.  I am also realizing that to have this gift of humility, I must be dead to myself.  The more I die, the more it manifests itself. O Lord, as I die and accept humility, the things that influence the pride of life will no longer matter.  I will be more callous to them.  I want to seek Your fullness.  Have mercy upon me.
