Thank You for the Gift of Wisdom

Dear Lord,

O let Your Spirit lead me in all ways of wisdom. Most of all, let me be submissive to Your Spirit. Let me do the things that You want me to do. I deny my will. This is the only way that You can take complete control of me. I put asunder those things that have shaped me into sin. I seek to know Your truth through wisdom. Bless me with it; but, let my heart be right to accept it. I turn away from me and welcome wisdom. In receiving this blessed gift of Yours, I desire to be shaped by it to do Your will. Let me know nothing else but You. I turn from the ugliness of sin which is the desire to do one’s will over Yours. Have mercy on me. I completely turn away from all unrighteousness.

I want to sparkle with Your Spirit.

Seeking to Rid Myself of My Former Way of Life

Having one’s way tuned to You means giving up all former ways of living: philosophies, thoughts, behaviors, associates, likes, desires and perspectives. Living for You requires the acceptance of Your standard: truth, justice, righteousness, love, humility, prudence and display of Godly knowledge. I seek to rid myself of my former way of life. However, I continue to resurrect it. I evoke stimuli that give life to the old. I must abolish all ties with the stimuli. I must discard whatever system that is perpetuating life to the old.

Once the old is devoid of life, I can be free to welcome You entirely in my life, thus bearing fruit of Your Spirit. I, right now, summon myself to kill all stimuli that try to resurrect my old self. I cut off its lifeline. I seek only to know Your life.

Help me Lord.

I Want to Know Your Eternal Life

O Lord,

I have realized that most, if not all, of my attention to You deals with my life on earth. I want to realize the significance of focusing on You in dealing with eternal life. Eternal life is the reason that Jesus died and rose. I feel in my spirit that I must turn away from focusing on my existence here and focus on my eternal life. Too often, spirituality is associated with being spiritual on this earth.

I desire to turn from this spirituality and seek the spirituality that is solely from above. I want my spirituality to focus on having life everlasting, not having abundant life on earth.

I will seek this more, Lord, as I understand Your Word. I seek You and Your governance in my life.

I Surrender This Life to You

O Lord,

Let me be content with what you give me. Let me have peace with it. Let me understand what You have for me. I don’t want to buck against any plan that You put in place for me.

Let me just accept the things that happen to me because I know that I am in Your will. I seek to have You more in my life. I want to be totally consumed by Your Spirit. I surrender this life to You. I stake no claim to it.

You continuously prove Your love to me. I am enlightened daily with something new about You. I must recognize more of Your blessings. There is no reason why I should have been dismayed.

I must only trust in You and look at the goodness You are presenting me. I declare that I have overcome the world; I must only believe and live according to this declaration.

Forgive me as I forgive others.
