Dear Lord,
I recognize that I am very vulnerable at all times. I can stumble easily to the wickedness, deception and weight of sin. I realize that anything that separates me from seeking You is sin. I realize, now, that the deception is “business”: The act of continually doing things; being busy. Because of staying busy, one loses the sight and yearning for You. This “business” becomes sin because it acts as an obstacle to getting closer to You. If I am to remain close and get closer to You, I must either not be involved in “business” of be involved on the periphery and have strict guidelines on devotion to You. Thank You, Lord, for revealing this deception of “business” to me. I realize, now, that I seek to be more involved in “business,” I am actually seeking to get farther from You. O Lord, have mercy on me.

Lord, thank You. Thank You for allowing me to have and enjoy the most important aspects of life.
Of most importance is having a relationship with You. I am realizing that I can actually let go of so many things about which I used to worry. I am realizing that the more I trust in You, my life becomes less complex and I can enjoy it much more. In fact, You do more for me, by just trusting, than I can do by troubling myself with worry and exerting energy in trying to get something done. I thank You for letting me have this confidence. Secondly, I thank You for my family. You allow me to reap the benefits of having children and a woman of my flesh. I get to enjoy their presence and very many of their joys. As they have joy and happiness in life, I have joy. I realize that this can only be from You. Thank You. Another important blessing from You is Your protective hedge around me. I thank You that I do not have ill circumstances that trouble me and my family. Such circumstances could be any emotional, physical or mental sickness, oppressing forces, or debilitating circumstances. My circumstances are minor, not requiring worry over them. Thank You. I would like to thank You for showing me that You are constantly moving in my life. I want to thank You for giving me the wisdom about establishing my way and You directing my paths.
I now know, Lord, that I cannot establish or direct my paths, or steps. It is only You who can do this. My duty is to establish my Way. My Way is to love You and keep Your commandments. If I abide in this Way, You will establish everything that will and can happen to me. Forgive me, Lord, for previously trying to establish my steps and not having my Way established in You. I realize that if my Way is not in You, I cannot produce fruit. |
