Give Me a New Heart, Lord

O Lord, You have revealed to me some of the secrets of the heart.  I realize that my heart has been tarnished.  I ask, Lord, that You wash it clean.  I ask that You remove all tarnish, all uncleanness, all stains, all blemishes, and all impurities.  I ask, Lord, that You renew it so that it is like new.  O Lord, while I put these things away from my heart, let me, please, add the fruit of the Spirit and all righteousness to it. 

Let my heart be able to stand before You.  Thank You, Lord, for this knowledge.  I know that I must be accountable for it.  Have mercy on me.
