MEDITATIONS AND BIBLE STUDIES

Let Me Humble Myself in Times of Prosperity

Dear Lord,

As I go through these times of changes where it would be that so many things are going well for me, let me humble and recognize my vulnerability.  Let me know that everything that happens to me is because of Your mercy towards me.  Nothing is from my strength.  I am a failure.  You have provided everything for me.  Let me realize my humble state:  a man of flesh and blood with death-wrenching desires.

As I go through, let me keep my eyes fixed on the course that is set, which is to uplift You to others.  Let me never forget the purpose of what I do and will ever do.  Although it can be easy to get wrapped up in the moment, let me put away the thoughts, feelings and desires of wanting to be somebody.

Let me only focus on being Your disciple, having my heart, mind, soul and spirit on glorifying You in all of my existence.  Let me be able to fulfill my obligations as a Christian.

This is absolutely beautiful and spoke directly to my heart. I never wanna think to highly of myself lest i also fall into temptation. God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble
