Let Not My Feelings Get in the Way of Serving You

O Lord,

Give me strength to run the race that is set before.  Please help me to not be swayed to the left or right, but keep on course.  I realize that many feelings can enter into the heart.  It is not only the mind that directs behaviors, but feelings also.  As a Christian, I must learn to master my mind and feelings.  At  this time of my understanding, I don’t know how the Bible refers to feelings.  I know they are not just the mind because feelings began to control the thoughts that come from the mind.  I must work on controlling my feelings.  I don’t want to falter because I feel disheartened.  Help me to understand feelings.  I will trust You to have uplifting and inspiring feelings.
