Christian Institute (CI) is approved both by CCAPP (California Association of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselors) and CADTP (California Association of DUI Treatment Programs). Both certifying bodies are approved with California Department of Health Services (DHCS) to certify candidates as certified counselors to work in treatment programs.

Because Christian Institute is approved with both associations, this means that you don’t have to worry if the courses you take  will count towards your certification. You can visit CCAPP’s and CADTP's websites for more information.

What is a RADT-1?
​
The Registered Alcohol and Drug Technician I (RADT-I) is an entry-level credential in California for individuals beginning a career in substance use disorder counseling. It allows trainees to gain supervised experience while completing required education toward full certification. To become registered, applicants must complete the orientation course, submit an application through CCAPP, and renew annually. RADT-I is the first step toward becoming a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC).
